Pantech Duo Cell Phone Review

The Duo from Pantech looks and feels like a more business-oriented version of the Helio Ocean. The Duo's namesake feature is its dual-sliding form factor, which gives users access to both a keypad and full QWERTY keyboard. The Duo also has a very plasticky facade for a phone of its class. This makes the phone look a little cheap. Also, the QWERTY doesn't slide out smoothly, and doing so feels more like you're manipulating a toy than a $200 smart phone.

Helio Ocean Review

Helio’s latest phone is a sexy device; the Ocean is the first dual slider, with both a QWERTY keyboard and a keypad, theoretically giving you the best of both worlds. And it gets pretty darn close; the phone looks great, works well and has plenty of features. But it’s not quite perfect; some of the features are limited... For instance, the much-vaunted GPS feature is very useful (and the Buddy Beacon lets you keep track of your Helio owning friends), but it’s missing some features that you would get on even a cheap dedicated GPS receiver; It can’t track where you’ve been and doesn’t provide turn by turn directions. And the Email and IM clients are the same; although the Ocean supports plenty of services for both, the list is not all-inclusive, and the proprietary OS means that you can’t download third party clients for services like ICQ that aren’t supported.
