Visual Voicemail wins a Pogie

 Every year New York Times columnist David Pouge awards “Pogies” to what he thinks were the best innovations in consumer electronics. The winner this year was the iPhones visual voicemail. Pouge calls visual voicemail “not just one of the machine’s best features, but the way voice mail should be from now on.”

 If you thought AT&T was the only carrier with visual voicemail, think again. European carrier Vodaphone has just introduced a new service in Germany where new voicemails are instantly sent to subscribers as a MMS that they can click on and play at their convenience. Looks like voicemail screening is getting a little easier…
