Parting Shots: LG Chocolate 3
Added on 2008-09-05 15:51:00
by Marianne Schultz
Our review of the LG Chocolate 3 is done! We liked its increased internal storage, the ease of use of its music player software, and its battery life when playing music and browsing the web. We didn't like the new flip factor at all, preferring the slick slider style of its predecessors, nor did we like its poor talk time battery life. Right now, we think the Chocolate 3 is priced a little higher than it's really worth and isn't a massive upgrade over the Chocolate 2. Read our full review here for all the details.

BlackBerry Thunder Touch Screen Phone?
Added on 2008-06-08 21:33:00
by Alfredo Padilla
It looks like Boy Genius Report picked up some information about the upcoming BlackBerry Thunder touchscreen device. According to them the phone will be a Verizon exclusive, at least initially, and will not sport a physical keyboard. We're not sure how much BlackBerry fans are going to enjoy losing their beloved keyboard, but we guess everyone is competing with the iPhone (review) now.

Parting Shots: Samsung Glyde
Added on 2008-05-29 10:08:00
by Alfredo Padilla
We spent the last couple of weeks with the Samsung Glyde from Verizon. Unfortunately this $200 handset doesn't live up to its billing as an iPhone (review) competitor. The biggest problem with the Glyde is the very difficult to use touch screen. We found that we had to press on screen buttons multiple time and in particular areas like the web browser the touch screen seemed very inaccurate.
It's a shame since on paper the Glyde had a lot going for it, including a full QWERTY keyboard, GPS and support for V Cast Mobile TV, but given that you have to live with the touch screen very minute that you use the phone the problems with it ruin this device.
Read our full review of the Samsung Glyde here.

Phone Scoop Reviews Glyde
Added on 2008-05-10 13:01:00
by Tanya Palta
The newly released Samsung Glyde was reviewed over by the folks overs at Phone Scoop who have mixed feelings about the phone. The touch screen works most of the time but it does take some time, getting used to it. Signal and voice quality was found to be average too. However the Glyde did win brownie points for its UI, camera and multi-media features.

First Call: LG enV2
Added on 2008-04-30 14:52:00
by Alfredo Padilla
The LG enV2 showed up at our offices today. The successor to the popular enV from Verizon the enV2 is slightly smaller than its predecessor with a few design changes, mostly on the exterior. In particular the already small external display has become even smaller and the keypad has received what we can only imagine they hope is a "cool" look. We'll leave you to decide how much you like it. The big feature of the enV2 is that it opens up to reveal a large QWERTY keyboard and 2.4 inch internal display, which makes it perfect for heavy texters.
This is a similar form factor to the LG Voyager (review), although the enV2 is smaller and lacks the external touch screen of the Voyager. Our first impressions of the phone are that it fits comfortably in your hand when closed, but like the Voyager we're not sure we like the layout of the keyboard. We also have to say that it's a little brick-like. We showed it to some co-workers in the office and asked "hot or not". We got four nots and three hots, interestingly the ladies all seemed to like it while the guys did not. What are our thoughts? Check out our review next week to find out.
The enV2 is available now for $129.99 with a two-year contract or $179.99 without. Oh, and if you want more pretty pictures you'll find them after the jump.
