Korean Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute have reportedly developed 4G  technology, which makes it possible to achieve increased transmission rate of 3.6 gigabits per second (gbps). This means that one can download a 4.7GB DVD in a just around  10.5 seconds. Mind-boggling isn’t it ?

The technology should be commercialized by 2012  and Hwang Seung-koo, the head of ETRI's Mobile Telecommunications Research Division said that watching HD content in real time would be a possibility.

Cell Phone Reliance
Added on 2007-03-12 14:27:00
by Rusty Weiss

Occasionally, technology does find some limitations.
Such is the case of cell phone use during the recent tornado outbreaks in Alabama.
A chaotic scene caused emergency workers to try communicating via cell phone, rather than with the state’s emergency communication system. With so much action on the network (traffic tripled), the system was overwhelmed.
It is an example of how important cell technology has become for law enforcement officials, emergency personnel, and people in general.
