Sling Media, the folks behind SlingBox, says they're taking beta tester applications for eager S60 users. The beta will likely only run for four weeks, but if you've got a SlingBox, and a Nokia N75, N95 or E65, you might want to head over to the sign up page and get your Sling on.

SlingPlayer updates to support WindowsMobile 6

In case you've already made the jump to WinMo six, you probably noticed your Sling client wasn't working as great as you'd have hoped (or not at all.) Fear not, SlingBox user, the folks at Sling Media rolled out an update to fix your woes and improve the software. The new version adds support for additional A/V devices, changes up the interface a bit and of course, the requisite bug fixes are in place. Head to SlingMedia's site for the download, and due to their whacky registration proceedure, you'll have to give them a call to get a new registration code for Windows Mobile 6, even if you've already bought the software. If you're not a customer, you can get a free 30-day trial, or buy the software for $30, but it requires that you also own a SlingBox.
If you've got a media center PC, let us be the first to encourage you to give Orb a look. Orb is free, and works similarly to SlingBox, except did we mention it's free?

High-quality TV on your current cell phone? It may be possible if your phone’s data link is fast enough and if you combine it with a Slingbox device at your home. Sling Media Inc.’s Slingbox products let users view their home cable TV broadcasts from any PC with a browser and an Internet connection as well as from some mobile devices.
So how good is the result? Not bad when used with a Cingular 8525 Pocket PC phone from AT&T Wireless, according to a video posted at TechEBlog.
