Motorola MING A1600 and MING A1800 Unveiled

The Motorola MING A1600 and MING A1800 were officially unveiled today without much fanfare. Both smartphones run on Linux and include a 3-megapixel camera, A2DP, Bluetooth, and GPS. However the A1800 also includes CDMA support where as the A1600 only has GSM support.

According to Boy Genius, Motorola is planning to unleash an 8-megapixel-camera phone in the near future. Codenamed Alexander, the cellphone is rumored to have built-in NVIDIA chip, GPS capabilities, and UIQ and touch screen.

Motorola officially unveiled the MOTOZINE ZN5 cellphone, which has been developed in partnership with Kodak Imaging Technology. Hence its not surprising that the phone comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and offers integration with the Kodak Gallery. It will be release in China first around July.

Motorola MC75 Announced

The Motorola MC75 was recently announced and is being marketed as a mobile enterprise smartphone. The rugged phone supports HSDPA and EV-DO and operates on 3G networks. It runs on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0 operating system and should see a 3Q 2008 release.

Motorola Q9c Debuts on Verizon Wireless

The Motorola Q9c is now available on Verizon Wireless and one can get their hands on it via Verizon's business sales channels. Those who want to take the more traditional retail store route need to wait for another few weeks. Running on the Windows Mobile OS, the Q9c is selling for $250 after rebate and a two-year contract.

Skype for Mobile Goes Beta

Skype recently released a beta version for java-enabled mobile phones from Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. The beta version of Skype for mobile features chat, group chat, presence (seeing when your contacts are online), and receiving calls from Skype users, and through Skype.

Additional features, which include the making of Skype-to-Skype and SkypeOut calls from the mobile handsets, are initially supported in seven markets: Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
