AOL Acquires Third Screen Media

AOL in a recent press release announced the acquisition of Third Screen Media', which is one of the biggest  mobile advertising network. Fox News, AccuWeather, and WWE are clinets of Third Screen Media.

"AOL is one of only four at-scale advertising businesses on the Internet, and the acquisition of Third Screen Media gives us a very strong position in the fast-growing mobile space," said Randy Falco, Chairman and CEO of AOL. "It also lets us offer advertisers a more complete set of solutions, from display advertising to search and now a superior set of mobile solutions."

AOL aquires Third Screen Media

AOL announced yesterday its acquisition of Third Screen Media.  Third Screen is mobile phone Ad Company that brings ad publishers and mobile phone carriers together allowing for ads to be delivered along with mobile downloads, video, and SMS messages. The acquisition brings AOL into the mobile advertising world and will operate out of their advertising division.

Startup WiMoto Pushes Mobile Social Networking, Advertising

Silicon Valley based WiMoto will be demonstrating a new mobile advertising technology based on push technology that will enable social media marketing across all wireless platforms.  Retail branded mobile phones will be enabled using this technology (how would you like a Target or Netflix branded phone?), called Cellular Communitization™. It claims to provide fully localized and personalized mobile ad content.  No info is currently available on the company website, but the press release states that interested parties can request a demo by sending an email to contact@wimoto.com.

Yahoo Announces New Suite of Mobile Advertising Services

Today, Yahoo has unveiled a new suite of services designed to accelerate the movement of online ad publishers into the mobile world.  The Yahoo Mobile Ad Network, Yahoo Mobile Content Engine, Yahoo Mobile Media Directory, and Yahoo Mobile Site Submit tools are all designed to provide an enhanced mobile experience for end users, and to ease the transition into mobile for web publishers. 

The Yahoo Mobile Ad Network will allow publishers to monetize their content via display ads, video ads, in-game ads, and sponsored links - as they do on their PCs today.  The Yahoo Mobile Content Engine makes content available via Yahoo One Search , Yahoo's mobile search engine.  Designed uniquely for mobile users,the Yahoo Mobile Media Directory will feature a collection of ringtones, wallpapers,and other mobile content.  Yahoo Mobile Site Submit provides a portal for site submission similar to the familiar PC-based version on the Yahoo site. 

Yahoo Mobile Publisher Services is now live in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam.
