Users of FreeConference.com, a low-cost conferencing service, are discovering that their access to the service is now being blocked by some phone companies. Instead of being connected to their scheduled teleconferences, callers are now getting recordings or simply not getting through, according to FreeService.Com.
According to FreeConference.com, a division of Global Conference Partners, some major phone companies, including Sprint Nextel, AT&T Wireless (Cingular), and Qwest Communications International Inc. are blocking access to FreeConference because it competes directly with the phone companies’ own teleconferencing services.
