Parting Shots: LG Chocolate 3
Added on 2008-09-05 15:51:00
by Marianne Schultz

Our review of the LG Chocolate 3 is done! We liked its increased internal storage, the ease of use of its music player software, and its battery life when playing music and browsing the web.  We didn't like the new flip factor at all, preferring the slick slider style of its predecessors, nor did we like its poor talk time battery life.  Right now, we think the Chocolate 3 is priced a little higher than it's really worth and isn't a massive upgrade over the Chocolate 2.  Read our full review here for all the details.

Hands-on pics of the new Chocolate
Added on 2007-07-10 15:30:00
by Randall Bennett

Lookee what we got here... the latest edition of LG's hit, the Chocolate.  The new model is definitely more milk chocolate than its semi-sweet predecessor, ditching the touch sensitive send and end buttons on the exterior and moving them underneath the slide.  Also moving from good to better, the update adds a physical scroll wheel surrounded by LEDs instead of the touch sensitive arrow keys, which looks great and seems to work pretty nicely.  Not all touch sensitive buttons are gone though, with a clear and speaker phone button replacing send and end, and the phone retains two touch sensitive soft keys on the exterior.  The phone adds in some "faux tactility," vibrating whenever touch sensitive buttons are pressed. We'll have our full review up later, but while you're waiting check out our mini-gallery of pics after the break (click "Read More.)

The new Chocolate hit Verizon today with three different colors, and you can get it for $249 under a two-year contract.

Budget LG KG289 Phone
Added on 2007-07-06 03:17:00
by Tanya Palta

Chocoholics are in for a treat as a new budget LG Chocolate Phone is on the way. The KG289 may not have the most impressive feature list since it lacks 3G and one has to be just content with GPRS. Supporting the GSM Triband network the phone will feature a 256k colors TFT display screen with 128 x 160 resolution and the trademark Chocolate look.

Update To the Chocolate?
Added on 2007-05-11 11:21:00
by Alfredo Padilla

Fresh from the FCC is what seems to be an update to the LG Chocolate. Very few details are available, but it looks like it will again be a CDMA handset with EVDO of course and bluetooth (although we expect Verizon to cripple it again). It's been quite awhile since the Chocolate was released so for those who like the device it's about time for an update. Check out our full review of the LG Chocolate here. We hope that LG does better with this newer iteration.
