For the uninitiated; SideShow can access certain core features without fully booting the system. SideShow can also drive the display of PC data on mobile phones and other devices that are connected via Bluetooth or other wireless network protocols.

JGUI has brought the look of Windows Vista to Windows Mobile smartphones with their new interface. Sure, Vista isn’t exactly the most popular operating system in the world…but it does look pretty. The interface replaces your homescreen with a gadget filled sidebar. You can download it here (for free) for your WM6 handset.

Palm has released a beta version of a Vista version of Palm desktop. The Vista-friendly version was due out back when Vista hit the streets, but better later than never. Palm/Vista users can download the palm Desktop software now but are advised to read the fine print in the instructions and make sure you know what you’re getting into before you do an install.

Palm Vista support coming soon
Added on 2007-05-29 06:36:00
by Emily Price
In a post on their support page Palm has promised Vista support for Palm users to be on the way. In a post in the Palm blog last week Paul Loefler indicated that a Vista fix was being worked on, the current post tells users to expect that fix soon. The fix is expected to be a beta release of a “Vista-compatible Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager” to be available this summer. Palm 755p users are encouraged to hold out for that software rather than use the version of Desktop included with the handset.

The concept of a computer in your pocket isn’t brand new by any means. But a Micro PC that makes use of the Microsoft operating system, is in it’s infancy.
The latest Micro PC to hit the market is presented by FlipStart Labs. It is a direct challenger to the OQO Model 02 which started shipping just a week ago. Both models are built on the Vista or XP operating systems.
