The nice FedEx man just dropped off a package containing a shiny new AT&T Tilt; read on for our first impressions and lots of photos of this interesting new phone.
The folks over at Engadget got their hands on the newly announced AT&T Tilt and wax eloquence about the hardware. The device scores on its performance and goodies like TeleNav, AT&T Music, and Cellular Video. However the device was found to be a tad bulky but that’s just a small gripe. Overall the smartphone doesn’t disappoint.
The much talked about Tilt made its official debut on the AT&T network. The smartphone is the first AT&T-enabled Windows Mobile 6 smart device and will be available for a promotional price of $299.99 beginning Oct.
The Tilt includes a 3-megapixel camera, 3G data speeds from AT&T's UMTS/HSDPA-based BroadbandConnect network, wi-fi, Bluetooth® 2.0 and a slide-out QWERTY keypad. One also comes across the latest version of TeleNav GPS NavigatorTM, which provides GPS-enabled turn-by-turn voice and on-screen driving or walking directions.
“The AT&T Tilt is the most comprehensive wireless device on the market today," said Michael Woodward, vice president, Business Voice/Data & Mobility Products, AT&T. "In addition to its innovative design, there is no device on the market that packs the number of features that are available on the Tilt."
AT&T subscribers won’t have to play the guessing game when it come to the HTC Tilt 8925 Kaiser. HTC leaked details of the AT&T Tilt on its website which states clearly that the WM6 smartphone will hit the AT&T network soon and would include BlackBerry Connect support.
The HTC Kaiser, aka AT&T's soon-to-be Tilt, made some face time over on YouTube, and for people who haven't exactly seen the slide-and-tilt wonder in action, hit the YouTube video above for a demo. We kinda figure the Tilt would force itself into a Tilt, but as the video shows, the slide out form-factor makes it more akin to the 8525 until you... well... tilt it up. Rumors say the device will hit September 3rd for $499 with a two-year contract, so your wait is almost over Tilt-a-holics.
