Telenor and Nokia to Collaborate for OVI

Telenor and Nokia will “cooperate” with each other to develop and adopt new Internet services on the Ovi services platform provided by Nokia. The Telenor and Ovi services will be offered to Telenor customers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark as well as in Hungary.
"We are pleased to announce this cooperation with Telenor and strongly believe that it will lead the way in the Scandinavian market in integrating devices and services together. Openness is at the core of the Ovi environment and we are constantly looking for new ways to offer consumers a great variety of experiences that they can choose from according to their own preferences," said Timo Ihamuotila, Executive Vice President of Sales, Nokia.

The OMTP BONDI Initiative

Some of the major mobile operators from the Open Mobile Terminal Platform group have launched a new initiative which focuses on creating a framework for secure mobile Internet applications.
The Bondi Initiative supported is supported by carriers like 3 Group, AT&T, T-Mobile, Telenor, Telefonica, Telecom Italia and Vodafone who all aim at "opening up mobile functionality to encourage the development of exciting mobile applications without compromising customer security".
