Going Green (or Orange in this case) is the new  tech mantra. Check out the Iqua Sun headset by Orange UK, which claims to be “world's first solar-powered Bluetooth headset”. Compatible with a plethora of devices (including the omnipresent iPhone), the headset is capable of nine hours of talk time and 200 hours of stand-by operation. Another reason to stay in the sun.

Solar-powered candybar phone

Adding features to phones is always the desire of our hearts, but we know that for every implementation of 3G or music playback, that means less battery life.  While this new solar powered handset from China isn't exactly going to solve the problem, it's a definite start.  The phone rocks a QVGA screen, microSD, "stereo speakers," Bluetooth and a 1.3-megapixel cam.  JAMP doesn't mention the specs on the solar panel, so it could just be cosmetic and not give a real battery hit, but c'mon, any sort of battery extending device gets some props, right?

Motorola Patents New Solar LCD Technology
Added on 2007-04-24 12:20:00
by Tanya Palta

Motorola has patented a new cutting-edge technology which entails combining a solar cell with the LCD screen of a mobile phone which would then in turn draw energy from the Sun! This in the Queen's Language means you can basically charge your mobile phones when ever you are out! Of course all this is on paper for now and it would be while before we actually see it!
