Commuters in London will soon be able to avail the Oyster card scheme courtesy Nokia and the O2 Network. Via the in built-in RFID chips in mobile phones, one will be able to pay for train tickets by swiping their handset over the Oyster card reader. The cost would then be deducted from a commuter’s bank account or added to the customer's monthly phone bill. The trial will involve over 500 people invited from the O2 customer base and will run for six months until the end of May 2008.

RFID skin-patch sends medical info to doctors cell
Added on 2007-11-07 03:02:00
