Google Launches Mobile Banner Ads

Google will now deliver mobile banner ads to those companies, which use Google's AdWords for online advertising.  Advertisers need to pay only for what mobile users click on making Google a more attractive option those companies like Yahoo, AdMob and Third Screen.

Microsoft Revamps MSN Mobile Portal

After Youtube Mobile, it is now Microsoft who has released an optimized website for mobile content. Microsoft's new MSN Mobile portal - mobile.msn.com lets one access a whole gamut of services and multimedia content like e-mail, search, maps and instant messaging.

“We firmly believe there is an inflection point here," said Phil Holden, Microsoft's director of mobile Web services. "There's a new battle, a new frontline developing on the mobile phone."

Sprint Launches Slifter

Sprint Nextel seeks to be the Mecca of online mobile shopping by launching a new shopping service in conjunction with GPShopper. Called Slifter utilizes GPS technology to locate any product in any neighborhood. GPShopper calls the service the “first mobile local product search application” and covers 30,000 participating retail stores.
