Sprint snags HTC's Touch
Added on 2007-08-17 14:20:00

While the HTC touch isn't anything special when compared to that OTHER touch screen only device, call us HTC fanboys but we still think there's something pretty nifty about an upgraded version of the Touch heading to Sprint later this year. GearLog says the phone will jump to 400MHz from 200, and snag some EvDO Rev A. for some quick data action, but we're hoping for an even more advanced version of TouchFLO when the phone likely launches in November.

HTC Touch 2 coming?
Added on 2007-08-07 15:01:00
by Randall Bennett
While it'd be sweet if it were real, these "leaked" renders of the HTC Touch 2 are likely false hope. The leaked specs don't disappoint either, with 3G, WiFi and FM radio, and top it off with a Helio Ocean-esque approach to sliders, and we're game. It's a shame that it probably isn't real, but if HTC wants some free market research advice: Make this a reality.
[Thanks, Steve]

HTC Touch hits T-Mobile Germany
Added on 2007-07-26 11:04:00
by Randall Bennett
Don't call it an iPhone competitor, but instead T-Mobile's latest phone hitting Germany and if the rediculously cheap $68 price tag doesn't sway you ($535 out of contract) the aformentioned specs should. Sure, the talk time doesn't quite live up to that of the wonderPhone, but we can't help but drool over a fairly inexpensive HTC phone with TouchFLO interface.

HTC Touch: Elf + TouchFLO interface
Added on 2007-06-05 08:57:00
by Randall Bennett
HTC showed off their new phone, the HTC Touch, in front of a crowd of Londoners today, and the big feature? Trying to compete with the iPhone A new interface named "TouchFLO" by HTC. Don't get it confused though, it's no multi-touch but rather a new way to sweep a finger / stylus around Windows Mobile. The::Unwired has some video of the gesture based input system running on the Elf, and it looks interesting to say the least.
Interesting or not, it certainly is an indicator of what all mobile phone manufacturers are feeling: iPhone envy, and we certainly don't blame them. The real question? Can Windows Mobilecan really compete in the interface game with the iPhone, or should Microsoft and WinMo handset manufacturers just stick to their open-ish platform and third-party application approach. What do you think? Sound off in the comments.
