Dell has gotten into the cell phone game by selling high-end Nokia handsets UNLOCKED in their online store. It looks as though the carrier hasn’t partnered with any particular carrier, making the phones pretty high-dollar, but also cheap when you look at the going price for an unlocked handset these days. Currently the store offers the Nokia N80, E61, E61i, and N95.

Is Dell the Frontrunner to Buy Palm?
Added on 2007-04-11 21:51:00
by Rusty Weiss
Analysts have noticed that the Axim has disappeared from the Dell web site, raising eyebrows and speculation that they could be targeting Palm for acquisition.
A few factors are contributing to these rumors. First, Motorola no longer appears to be in the running to purchase Palm. Second, Dell has the money to buy Palm right now. The company has $12.5 billion in net cash to make acquisitions. Finally, as mentioned before, dropping the Axim demonstrates a shift away from the PDA, and toward Dell’s interest in pursuing smart phone technology.
