Rudyard Kipling once said “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet." While we don’t particular subscribe to this view however looks like it holds true in the case of the almighty iPhone.

China Mobile has called off talks with Apple regarding the launch of the iPhone in China.  Though both parties refuse to give any reason, many think the issue is fee sharing.

"Our parent has terminated talks with Apple over the iPhone," a spokeswoman for listed China Mobile said, confirming several unsourced Internet reports. She would not elaborate.

Microsoft Ripoff is a Not-So-Smartphone
Added on 2007-04-24 23:27:00
by Rusty Weiss

While we here at Wirelessinfo do not condone ripping off other companies in any way, we do ask that if you're going to go through the hassle, please don't make it so hilarious.

The Doubao 777, developed by a Chinese company, makes use of some dumbphone technology.

Yes, this puppy is a member of the 'Window' phone family. That's 'Window' ... Singular. Presumably the Chinese knock-off is only capable of opening one 'Window.' Period.

Even more impressive is the schizophrenic switch from upper-case letters to lower-case on the word 'TOUCHSCReeN.'

The Doubao 777 is being sold in Taiwan currently, but we are anxiously awaiting a future release that will support the Linucks and Pom operating systems.

Chinese manufactures in their true enterprising style lined up a whole plethora of iPhone cases at the HK Electronics & Computer Fair! While I always admire any kind of initiative, I hope for their sake that Steve Job doesn't change the specs of the iPhone!
