iPhone Clones Line Up at CeBIT

Apple's new iPhone is set to launch in June, and Apple anticipates repeating its iPod success in the mobile market. Currently, Apple holds roughly 70% market share in the lucrative music player market.
Already, the iPhone clones are lining up, many for presentation at the upcoming CeBIT show this week. Sony Ericsson has already announced a music player phone, the W950 that features the same touch screen as the iPhone plus stylus, and handwriting functions. This 3G phone also has a whopping 4G of on-board memory, a 262,144 color touchscreen and USB support for music downloading. It also supports Sony's popular Memory Stick format.
Another clone featured is the Meizu M8 miniOne, with announced pricing of $300 and $400 for the 4GB and 8GB versions respectively. Considered the Asian reflection of the iPhone, it features a 3.3" screen with a 3 megapixel camera and a screen resolution of 720 x 480.
According to some, the strongest European competition against the iPhone will come from the new Prada phone designed by LG. LG has no plans to introduce this phone to the North American market, and believes that Europeans are more apt to buy the luxury high priced model with its sleek, stylish exterior. It also features a touchscreen.
Last but not least, Samsung has unveiled the F700, which is similar in every way to the iPhone with additional features such as a 5 megapixel camera and a slide-out keyboard. The camera on the iPhone is only 2 megapixels. One thing is overwhelmingly clear, Apple is playing in a whole new game against established players who are not going to easily give up market share!
