Firefox Mobile To Debut This Summer

Jay Sullivan, vice president of mobile for Mozilla says that their mobile browser should see a summer release. Mozilla's mobile Firefox will bring full web capabilities to mobile devices.

83% of Men Use Mobile Browsers

According to a survey conducted by Opera more than 83% of men use their use their mobile browsers and only 16% women do the same.  The survey was conducted in countries like  UK, Russia, Indonesia, China, US, India, South Africa, Ukraine, Germany and Poland.

Opera Previews Mobile Browser for Google Android

Apple's Browser Gains Share

According to StatCounter the usage of Apple’s Safari Browser on the iPhone and iPod increased by 64 percent between December and March. The Safari Browser market share in the U.S. jumped from 0.14 percent to 0.23 percent from December to March.

“The key message is that iPhone is more than living up to its claims of being a user friendly Internet browser, unlike many other cell phones," says StatCounter founder and CEO Aodhan Cullen.

Opera Mini Browser Officially on Helio

Helio is now offering the Opera Mini Browser officially to its customers. The official version only runs on select handsets and one can download the browser by typing the shortcode "67372" (OPERA) on their phone’s idle screen.

Opera Mobile 9.5 Unveiled

Opera Software has unveiled the Opera Mobile 9.5 and the new version promises to be faster, slicker and more intuitive. A video demonstration of Opera Mobile 9.5 is available on Opera Software's web site and expect support for OS like Linux, Symbian S60 and UIQ and of course Windows Mobile.

NetFront 3.4 for Windows Mobile now Available

Windows Mobile users can now download the technical preview version of NetFront 3.4. The latest version is available on the Access website and it now supports the latest standard markup languages: HTML (HyperText Markup Language), XHTML (eXtensible HyperText Markup Language), and WAP2.0 (WML1.3). The trial period for this software expires on February 29, 2008.

Opera Link On New Opera Browsers

The beta versions of Opera 9.5 and Opera Mini 4 are just round the corner and the new versions will have improved bookmark synching as the browser can synchronize bookmarks between a PC and a mobile device.

The synching feature, called Opera Link will make use of Opera Mini (mobile browser) and Opera 9.5 (desktop browser) and will copy all bookmarks to a server that would be available to both the browsers. Opera Link is available for Macintosh, Windows and Linux computers, and users will need to sign up for a free Opera account.

Firefox Mobile To "Rock"

Its slim pickings when it comes to a genuine mobile browser however with Mozilla’s announcement today, things might just look up. Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla's VP of engineering, in his blog on Tuesday outlined the company’s plan to “rock” the mobile browsing world with the release of a mobile avatar of their Firefox browser.

"People ask us all the time about what Mozilla's going to do about the mobile Web, and I'm very excited to announce that we plan to rock it. We are serious about bringing the Firefox experience and technology to mobile devices," wrote Mike Schroepfer, Mozilla's VP of engineering, in his blog on Tuesday.

Firefox Mobile In The Pipeline

The popular Internet browser Mozilla Firefox will soon be seen in a mobile avatar. Mozilla Foundation CEO Mitchell Baker has confirmed that a Mobile browser is in the pipeline. However in the same breath he also added that one should not expect it to be available anytime soon.

Can’t Find Parking? Pick Up The Phone!

IWhereToFindPariking.com logof you live in Manhattan you know how tough it can be to find parking when you need it. Since December WhereToFindParking.com has allowed New Yorkers to locate areas where the parking rules are their favor. Now the service is poised to launch in Boston and in other cities, said founder Erik Feder in a phone interview with Wirelessinfo.com.

Feder said the process of uploading data for Boston’s streets into the site was underway and said the Beantown service would be launched soon. Next on the drawing board are Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, he said.
