Flash Free for Mobile Devices says Adobe

Adobe Systems have announced that they will license their video-enabling Flash software for free for mobile devices. Titled, the Open Screen Project, Adobe wants to enhance the Internet experience on all devices including mobile devices.
Adobe said, it aims to improve Internet experiences on all electronics, including computers, TVs and digital video recorders. But mobile devices are a particular focus. Adobe will make an official announcement this coming Thursday.

Flash on its way to the iPhone

Adobe says that Flash is on its way to the iPhone. In a conference call Chief Executive at Adobe Shantanu Narayen said that the company was working on a Flash player for the phone saying "We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone," adding, "We have evaluated (the software developer tools) and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."

Adobe Company Chief Shantanu Narayen in a conference call to investors announced Adobe’s plan to develop Flash for iPhone. Adobe with the help of the Software Development Kit released by Apple last week is working on a animation plug-in for the iPhone.
"We believe Flash is synonymous with the Internet experience, and we are committed to bringing Flash to the iPhone," the Adobe head noted. "We have evaluated [the SDK] and we think we can develop an iPhone Flash player ourselves."

Microsoft Licenses Adobe Mobile Software

It is official. Microsoft will distribute Flash Lite and Reader programs from Adobe Systems Inc. to phones that run on Windows Mobile software. This would make viewing online videos and other files a more intuitive experience for the cellphone user.
"Flash content is the most prolific content on the web today; it is the way people express themselves on the Internet," Adobe spokesman Gary Kovacs said.

Adobe has chosen Verizon as the exclusive carrier for their mobile applications. Currently Adobe is working on Flashcast an application designed give users "personalized, intuitive data services through Adobe Flash Player-compatible mobile applications called channels. Users will choose from always-on channels with content ranging from sports and weather, to news, entertainment, music and more."
