There are a few good rumors to pass on to you today that will be exciting for those of you who want a push-to-talk-capable Blackberry on Sprint, an Android-based phone sooner rather than later, or a new Walkman phone from AT&T. In other news, Best Buy adds a famous Apple product to its line-up and and Apple's App Store has some phenomenal sales numbers in its first month of existence.

O2 3G iPhone Pricing Revealed

O2 today accidentally (?) leaked the pricing details of the 3G iPhone before playing spoilsports and taking the webpage down. Looks like the much anticipated iPhone 3G with a pay-as-you-go plan will cost £300 ($593) for the 8GB model, and £360 ($711) for the 16GB model.

Softbank Reveals iPhone Pricing for Japan

Softbank Corp will sell the 8-gigabyte iPhone for 23,040 yen ($215) and the 16-gigabyte version for $320. The iPhone will make its debut in Japan on July 13th 2008.

91% of Japanese Will Not Buy 'iPhone'

According to a recent survey by iSHARE, the Japanese are not exactly enamored by the iPhone. Out of the 402 responses received online, around 91% of them said that there were not interested in buying it.

China Unicom Picks Up 3G iPhone?

T-Mobile will sell the new iPhone 3G handset for as little as €1 in Germany, provided the user signs up a 24-month contract in addition to a €69 or €89 monthly plan. There is always a catch, isn't it?

Apple talking about iPhone at WWDC

Apple today is talking about new features of the Apple iPhone at their world wide developers conference. Thus far they have discussed upcoming enterprise features and third party applications that were first demonstrated at an event in March. These features will be available via a software update to all existing iPhone users in early July. Also unveiled is a new service called Mobile Me, which allows iPhone users to keep their data in sync between their device and multiple computers. Apple is also expected to provide information about the new 3G version of the iPhone. We will provide further updates as they become available.
Update: Apple has announced the new iPhone 3G available starting at $199 for 8GB, $299 for 16GB and will be available on July 11th.

Apple Store Down

Apple's online store is down, probably in preparation for today's announcements at the World Wide Developer Conference. The biggest announcement expected is a new 3G version of the Apple iPhone (review), which is expected to feature additional features like GPS. Steve Jobs begins his keynote at 1:00 PM EST, we'll be covering any announcement here so keep you eye on our front page.

Apple to allow subsidized iPhones?

A report out of the Financial Times once again brings up the idea that Apple will allow carriers to begin subsidizing the price of the iPhone (review) beginning with the new 3G version that should be released later this month and announced tomorrow. Apple had previously required carriers to sell the iPhone at full price and required carrier partners to share a portion of the monthly revenues from iPhone carriers. It may be that resistance from many carriers to such a model has led Apple to change their approach in an effort to ensure that the iPhone is sold in as many markets as possible.

TeliaSonera to roll out iPhone to Northern Europe

TeliaSonera in a press release announced that they will bring the iPhone in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia "later this year." However the company refused to divulge further details.

iPhone Sold Out Online Says Apple

Apple has officially confirmed that the iPhone has sold out and wont be available online in the UK and U.S. They declined to elaborate further though we are guessing that the 3G iPhone may just land up earlier than we were expecting.
