Just as promised the iPhone 1.1.3 update is now available for download. We're in the process of downloading it and getting it installed (although it's slow going) and will be back with photos and our impressions shortly, so check back.

Here's the complete change log; no surprises here:

The last one is interesting, though; the linked page goes through to this page, which describes the security patches this applies. There are no big surprises here: it patches two Safari bugs that could allows a site to download code to the phone, and a bug that allowed some users to run ana application even if the phone was locked.

Here we are with the 1.1.3 update screen

And here's the download. We've already had it restart once: we imagine Apple's servers are being nailed right now.

After the extended download session comes the updating phase.

Hooray for updating! Now all that's needed is a quick restart and we're done.

Well, that's not necessarily true. First you have to get security clearance.

In order to convince AT&T that you legally bought your iPhone you'll have to fill out a short questionnaire.

The first thing you see after updating is this little explanation of how to move stuff about on the home screen

Here's Google Maps' new location feature

And here's the new interface, pretty much what we expected form the 1.1.3 leak awhile back

Sending an SMS to both Mom & Dad is a sight to behold, too bad I can't send them a picture too

And here's the new webclip feature

Let's just add Wirelessinfo.com to our home page

and Voila!

We still haven't been able to get the new lyrics and language features of the iPod app to work, we're downloading and installing the new version of iTunes to see if that helps out.

So we were able to get lyrics on the iPhone, frankly it's nothing to be too impressed by. All you need to do is add the lyrics to a song using the Apple-I or Ctrl-I function. The lyrics become one big blog of text on the iPhone though, and there's no way to automatically add lyrics to your iTunes songs, so you'll have to find a third party app or do it manually.
