Rather than muddy your RSS reader and our page with too much iPhone overkill, we've taken some of the best bits and thrown them all together in this post.  Read on for the iPhone overkill, or get out your tents for the phone's June 29th launch.

iPhone purportedly in the wild

Some sites are running a wild rumor about an iPhone spotted in a Silicon Valley restaurant.  The writer claims to have played with the device extensively, using Safari and viewing the settings page.  No real way to confirm the rumor, but an interesting read if you're looking for more iPhone details. Also, a story hit USA Today saying over 200 AT&T employees have had their hands on the iPhone, putting the device through numerous tourture tests.  It may have lived up to their tests, but we'll see what happens when it goes through our gauntlet.

AT&T's attempts to please crowds

AT&T is understandably excited about the iPhone's impending launch, and with that they've taken some extra steps to get ready.  First, they distributed a memo detailing how to ask your landlord for some velvet ropes of your own, and even has the most cheezy sample conversation to date.

Second, AT&T says they've hired an extra 2,000 temporary workers to work through the launch of the iPhone.  They say that each AT&T retail employee has undergone a six hour training on the merits of the device.  Sounds impressive, now to see if anyone remembers any of the training. No word on data plans till launch day

More fun from AT&T as they say they won't announce the phone plan that goes alongside the iPhone until launch.  An AT&T executive hinted the iPhone should expect unlimited web browsing, like other devices on their network, but wouldn't specify any sort of pricing plan till after the phone hits store shelves.

"iPhone restaurant" creates iPhone dish

Some Apple ad executive must have really loved Bay area restaurant Pacific Catch enough to feature it in the first iPhone ad that hit airwaves June 3rd.  Now the restaurant has taken the idea from the ad, some Calamari desires after watching Pirates of the Carribean, and created an iPhone specific dish.
