Boston, MA, June 29, 2007 – Today is iDay, the official release of Apple’s iPhone and it promises to be the biggest electronics commotion of the year. The arrival of the all-in-one multimedia device is has been in the hearts and minds of media press and consumers alike since the iPhone was announced at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in January 2007. Now, the iPhone is nearly here: it'll be on sale at 6pm this evening at both Apple stores and AT&T storese across the country. With Apple’s promises of fully functioning multi-media device, the iPhone carries Internet, video, iPod music, and telephone capabilities. Users will be able to access functions through a 3.5-inch, touch screen that automatically rotates depending on which way you hold it. The iPhone can synchronize with both Macs and PCs, and apple describes it as the best iPod they have ever made; it can play music and video purchased through Apple's own iTunes online store. Like thousands of American consumers, WirelessInfo.com staff members will be camping out to get the phone. We are already in line at two stores in Boston and will continue to do so until tonight, 6pm EST when Apple will officially open the flood gates to let consumers buy of the iPhone for the first time. As soon as we can, we'll be bringing you the first comprehesive review of this long-awaited new cell phone.
Check the wirelessinfo.com blog for the latest updates on our campout, and check back here this evening for our comprehensive and comparative review, where we'll finally see if the iPhone lives up to the hype.
