Yahoo’s deal with Telefonica, the owner of O2 has gone through. The deal entails Yahoo providing Internet search facilities for the Spanish mobile phone operator via oneSearch. Both companies will share the advertising revenue and expect the service to go live by first quarter of 2008.
Geraldine Wilson, vice president of Yahoo! Europe mobile division said: "There are a number of different targeting advertising options we can do. Age and gender for example are specifics that are only passed on if the user declares them – but demographics, geographics and behavioural facts can be used." [Via Telegraph]
