From today onwards, Wal-Mart will start selling the Google G1 handset for $148.88 with a 2-year contract. That is $31.11 less than what good old T-Mobile is selling.

Wal-Mart may be selling phones at discounted prices but we can’t say the same thing about CompUSA. Currently an unlocked BlackBerry Bold is retailing for $799.9 on the website which makes us wonder who would actually buy it at that price?

The Pantech Slate which claims to be the “World’s Thinnest QWERTY Keyboard” handset, is now available on the AT&T network. Supporting a full QWERTY keyboard, the quad-band GSM/EDGE handset can be purchased for $50 after rebates.
Sprint will soon update the Sanyo Katana with its new One Click application. The updated handset called, Katana Eclipse X will let one personalized and customize the phone’s homescreen with the most used applications and will also provide 3G EV-DO connectivity.
