Update for the BlackBerry Storm, Nokia 2065 Mirage Debuts on Verizon and More

Verizon Wireless has a released the first ever firmware update for the BlackBerry Storm 9530. An over the air update will soon be available to Storm users till then they can visit the Verizon Wireless website.

 

 

The mid-level Nokia 2065 Mirage is now available on the Verizon Wireless network. The flip-phone totes a VGA camera, includes Bluetooth and supports VZ Navigator services.

 

 

 

 

Dual-Mode CDMA/WiMax wireless modems and handsets should be available on the Sprint network by the end of this year. Branded “Sprint 4G” the launch of these new WiMAX products will also mark the end of Xohm.

Nokia Siemens Networks was able to successfully test out the world's first Downlink Dual Carrier EDGE end-to-end call. Dual Carrier is based on the 3GPP release 7 standard and will result in downlink speeds of up to 1.2 Mbps and will double uplink speed to up to 473 kbps.

The jury is still out on whether the pictured phone is a new Nokia touchscreen phone or someone’s Photoshop fantasy. Appearing to be a keyless version of the N97, the phone is rumored to be powered by the S60 platform.
