T-Mobile to announce Google Android on 23rd September, Samsung Rugby on AT&T and More

T-Mobile to announce Google Android this week, Samsung Rugby on AT&T, N-Gage and Nokia Maps debut on Rogers and much more. Here is today’s web round up.


T-Mobile will announce the HTC Google Android mobile device by Sept. 23.The G1 will be unveiled at a press conference in New York however it won’t start shipping before October.

The Samsung Rugby, which is AT&T's first rugged Mil-Spec device and supports Push to Talk (PTT) with Video Share Calling is now available. You can purchase it for $129.99 after signing up for a 2-year contract.

The Second generation of Sony Ericsson’s Xperia smartphones may not run on Windows Mobile OS and will be open to other platforms. "The brand is not tied into any specific technical platform," said Magnus Andersson, product manager for the X1.
