Tethered Modem (0.0)
The G1 cannot act as a tethered modem out of the box via USB or Bluetooth. A 3rd-party application may make this possible in the future, but it earns no points in this area in its current configuration.

GPS (6.50)
The G1 has a GPS receiver, which works with the native Google Maps application. While it doesn't offer voice-guidance turn-by-turn directions, though we won't be surprised if a developer offers such an application in the near future, it can show a map of your current or other location easily, with multiple views available. One of these views, Street View, is a new one for a mobile device and offers a street-level view of your surroundings, and it can even rotate as you move around to show you what you should be seeing. Street View is not currently available on any other mobile device on the market today.

Many carriers hobble a GPS-capable phone by allowing it to be used with only specific applications on the device that require pay-per-use or a monthly subscription. T-Mobile has not done this with the G1, which is fabulous. Additionally, the G1's GPS receiver can be used by other apps, as on the iPhone 3G, for location-based services to find businesses, services near you, and even the contacts with stored addresses in the Contacts application.

PTT (0.0)
The G1 does not have push-to-talk capability.
