Sony-Ericsson announces new handsets at CES 2008
Sony-Ericsson revealed four new handsets at CES today including the next version of its Mylo VOIP device. The Mylo 2 has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, support for Flashlight 3, which means you can watch Youtube videos on it, a 1.3 megapixel camera and support for VOIP calls via the popular Skype service using the built in Wi-Fi.
Also revealed was the W760 Walkman branded handset. A slider phone, it is the first Sony-Ericsson phone to support AT&T's high speed HSDPA network, as well as international HSDPA networks, making it a global data device. Also included in the high end feature set is a 3.2 megapixel camera. As a Walkman branded handset it also supports music playback capabilities.
Finally two flip phones that are meant for international markets were announced. The Z555 is a traditional flip phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera and Gesture support. The The W350 is another music focused Walkman phone with a flip that does not obscure the display when closed.
Both phones lack support for the U.S. only 850Mhz band. Update: according to Sony-Ericsson both of these handsets will be available in tri-band U.S. versions, although they will only support EDGE connectivity.
