| The Sony-Ericsson Z750a has some stylish features like a reflective front face, and comes in multiple colors, but we have concerns about its durability. We're also not enamored of the limited accessories you get with the phone, just a wall charger. |

Front Closed
From the front the Sony-Ericsson Z750a is dominated by the shiny and reflective front cover. At the top you see the lens for the two megapixel camera. The AT&T log0 sits at the bottom left while the Sony-Ericsson logo is at the top right. Not immediately obvious is the OLED display. When lit up it is revealed in the center of the screen aligned horizontally, so you have to rotate the phone to read anything on it.

The front of the Z750a is very shiny.
Front Open
When you open the Sony-Ericsson Z750a you reveal the 2.2 inch QVGA display on the upper part of the flip. The lower part of the flip contains the phone controls and keypad, with several shortcut keys.

When opened you reveal the display and controls.
Left
The left side of the Z750a holds the volume keys and just above them, near the top, a dedicated play/stop button.

On the right are found volume keys and a play/stop button
Top
The top of the Sony-Ericsson Z750a contains the hinge for the flip.

On the top, just the hinge.
Bottom
The bottom of the Z750a holds the proprietary data and power port.

The bottom holds the proprietary port for data, power and headsets.
Right
On the right side of the phone is the slot for the Memory Stick Micro cards, with a tethered cover to protect it.

The right side holds the slot for the memory card.
Back
The back of the Sony-Ericsson Z750a has the speaker at the top left. Below this is the battery cover with the Sony-Ericsson logo on it.

On the back is the speaker and battery cover.
Battery Out
When you remove the battery cover you reveal the Z750a's battery. Just above it is a slot where you can insert your SIM card.

AT&T claims nine hours of talk time for the Z750a.
In the Box (1.0)
The Sony-Ericsson Z750a is bereft of accessories in the box. In addition to the phone and manuals all you get is a charger. This is a shame, we know the Z750a is an entry level handset but a cheap headset would not have added much cost and given the proprietary port that is used it would save users a lot of annoyance. A memory card would have been nice too.
Handling (5.0)
The Sony-Ericsson Z750a sits comfortably in the palm of your hand when closed or open. We actually found the distinct "flare" at the top of the phone made it easier to hold. What didn't make it easy to hold is the rather slick plastic that is used everywhere but on the front of the device, we can definitely see people dropping this phone left and right. The phone weighs in at 3.9 ounces, which isn't terribly heavy, but it did feel a bit bulky in our hands.
Portability (5.0)
The Z750a measures 3.8 x 1.9 x 0.8 inches and weighs 3.9 ounces. It's a bit bulky compared to other phones like the Razr2 V8 or the Samsung M520. It won't disappear into your pocket like the Razr does, but it won't weigh you down too much.
Aesthetics (4.0)
The Sony-Ericsson Z750a is not a particularly attractive phone, but it does have its good points. Those we showed the phone liked the shiny front of the device, but then frowned when they looked at the plasticky nature of the rest of the phone. They also thought it was a bit bulky and toy-like. Aesthetics is obviously a matter of taste and you can only expect so much from an entry level handset, but we've seen better from similarly priced phones like the Samsung M520.
Durability (3.0)
We always have concerns with any phone that has moving parts like the Z750a, but in this case we're even more concerned as the hinge on the flip felt a little loose. We were able to jiggle the front of the phone back and forth when it was closed, this does not inspire confidence about long term durability. The shiny plastic on the front is also a magnet for fingerprints and grease and we expect the soft plastic the device is manufactured from will get scratched easily the first few times you drop it.
