| The Sony-Ericsson Z750a performed pretty well in our battery tests. Although it didn't achieve AT&T's claim of nine hours of talk time, it came in with a solid time for a 3G device. We were also quite pleased to see a significantly better talk time than the Sony-Ericsson W580i. It did fall down a bit in terms of web browsing, but even here it could have been worse. For more information about our battery tests see this article. |

Call Time (5.98)
The Sony-Ericsson Z750a lasted for four hours fifty-nine minutes in our test of call time, significantly less than AT&T's claim or nine hours. Perhaps AT&T was testing their phone in 2G mode, which takes significantly less battery life, but using the more power hungry 3G network we would be surprised to find anyone lasting nine hours on any phone. The Z750a's performance wasn't terrible, however. You can see below that it came in at just about average and beat out several of our comparison phones. For a 3G device this is pretty good battery life and most people won't have a problem with it.

Music Playback (6.58)
Music playback time on the Sony-Ericsson Z750a was nine hours eight minutes, which is significantly above average and amongst our comparison phones only the Samsung M520 performed better. We were very happy to see the Z750a do better on this test than the W580i had. That Walkman branded device lasted only five hours thirty-five minutes in our music playback test. The Z750a's solid performance means you can listen to music on the device for hours and still have battery life left over to make calls.

Web Browsing (4.50)
We browsing time on the Sony-Ericsson Z750a came in at three hours forty-five minutes, significantly less than talk time. This is unsurprising given that the Sony-Ericsson Z750a uses AT&T's power hungry 3G network to achieve fast data transfers. You can see below that this is significantly below average, although middling amongst our comparison phones. At least it's not as bad as the Razr2 V8.

Idle Time unscored
In order to ensure that we deliver reviews in a timely fashion we don't score idle time. AT&T's claimed stand bye time for the Sony-Ericsson Z750a is 16 days, although given the gap between claims and reality for talk time we'd expect half that.
