Value (7.0)
The W580i is currently available exclusively from AT&T for $79.99 with a two-year contract or $269.99 without. If you purchase it with a contract the W580i is definitely a good value. It provides features and functionality that you will find on much more expensive handsets. The non-contract price is not a good value, however; you can purchase a high-end smartphone for that much.
Comparisons

Helio Fin - The Fin is a higher end handset than the W580i, with functions like built-in GPS and support for high-speed 3G networks. The W580i provides you with 90 percent of what you get with the Fin, however, and at a much lower price. If you're looking for sexy, sleek, and powerful go with the Fin. If you're willing to settle for good and cute, the W580i is for you.

Razr2 V9m (Sprint) - The Razr2 V9m is a handset with a comparable feature set to the W580i, but for a much higher price. It's definitely better in the looks department though, and some may prefer the flip form factor. If what you want is functionality, however, you won't be losing anything with the W580i compared to the Razr2.

Samsung Upstage - The Upstage is a wafer-thin handset with a unique dual-sided form factor. When using its included battery wallet it put up some of the best battery scores we've seen from any handset. In daily use, however, we have to go with the W580i here. It's easier to use and although it won't elicit as many looks as the Upstage, it's just as capable. They are comparably priced, however, so go with whichever you like best.

LG Chocolate VX8550 - The Chocolate is very similar to the W580i, with similar form factor and functionality. The Chocolate puts up better battery life in the music department, however, and we have to say we liked the Chocolate's look better than the W580i's. We'd go with the Chocolate in this matchup.

Samsung Blast - The Samsung Blast is another slider phone with music functionality. On the surface it may be very similar to the W580i, but in practice we found the latter performed much better. The Blast feels cheap, and it has too many problems for us to recommend it. In contrast, the W580i is a good phone with only a couple of issues.
