Conclusion
The W350 performs strongly with its good battery life and Walkman music player software, but falls down in imaging and video playback. While we always welcome a phone good enough at music playback that it can help us avoid carrying around a dedicated digital music player, we are disappointed that key accessories are missing from the W350's box to allow it to fulfill its purpose right away.
The W350 is a very tiny phone with a correspondingly tiny screen and buttons that could be frustrating for those with larger hands and less-than-perfect eyesight. Sending SMS and MMS messages are easy, and the software is stable and fairly easy to get around. At its current fabulous price of $0, it's hard to really complain about the W350 despite its shortcomings, and we are comfortable recommending it for those who want an exceptionally compact and inexpensive phone that can double as your music player.
Business User
There's no way to even begin to think the W350 is appropriate for business users. No native email application, no common PIM application syncing out of the box combined with very basic organizer capabilities puts it so far off the list for business users that it's not even funny.
Budget Callers
Free is the budget caller's favorite word in the dictionary, and the W350 will satisfy them with its price. But, the accessories to use it as a music player out of the box are missing, so forking over some cash will be required. We're sure budget callers will find a way to minimize these expenses, and the W350 will still be a good choice for these folks.
Chatty Teenager
What do you get when you cross a cute tiny phone with great messaging capabilities and battery life? You have the perfect phone for the chatty teenager who likes to listen to music. Plus, that $0 price doesn't hurt at all - chatty teenagers, unite at your local AT&T to buy the W350!
Media Maven
The media maven will be pretty happy with the W350's music player capabilities, but will sorely disappointed with everything else. Without video capture and the ability to play back even common video file formats, the media maven should seek satisfaction elsewhere.
