Sony Ericsson today took the wraps off their latest P-Series handset, the P1. The successor to the P990, the P1 slims down, loses the flip and ups the camera to 3.2 megapixels, amongst a range of other upgrades. Unfortunately the upgrade U.S. users were looking for is not here as the P1 lacks the 850 Mhz GSM band and doesn't support AT&T's 3G network.

Here are the Specs:
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with Auto focus
  • Digital zoom, 3x
  • Photo light
  • Bluetooth stereo (A2DP)
  • Music tones (MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+)
  • 512 MB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) expandable memory
  • 160 MB User Memory (internal)
  • FM radio RDS
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Wi-Fi
  • Jog dial
  • 1120 mAh battery
  • Operating system: Symbian™ OS v9.1
  • Size: 106 x 55 x 17 mm
  • Weight: 124 grams
  • Colour: Silver Black
  • Screen: 262,144 color TFT touchscreen
  • Resolution: 240 x 320 pixels
  • Size: 2.6 inches
  • Networks: P1c/i: UMTS 2100-GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900
  • Talk time GSM/UMTS: Up to 10 hrs/3 hrs 30 min
  • Standby time GSM/UMTS: Up to 440 hrs/350 hrs
  • Video call time: Up to 2 hrs
Looks like the N95 has a run for its money, at least for those people who don't live in the U.S.
