Sony Ericsson Announces 12-megapixel Cell Phone For 2009 Launch

15th Feb 09 - Perhaps looking to steal some of the thunder from Samsung's 8-megapixel cell phone announcement, Sony Ericsson has announced the details of their forthcoming 12.1-megapixel camera at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. Codenamed Idou, the handset will include a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the same as a HDTV. This is no coincidence: Sony Ericsson claimed that the handset will offer a full range of media functions. It is not expected to be released until the second half of 2009.
