Cellular Bands (8.0)
The Sidekick LX is a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) GSM phone that is compatible with any GSM network worldwide. As GSM is the global standard for phone networks this means that in practice you can use your Sidekick in just about any country on the planet. We should note, however, that the Sidekick LX is locked to T-Mobile so unless you want to pay their overseas rates you probably want to get an unlock code from them before you travel so you can buy and use a local SIM card.
Data Support Score (3.0)
The Sidekick LX supports EDGE data for download speeds of up to 250 kbps. This is significantly slower than the 3G speeds you seen on competitors networks, which can be two to four times as fast. Edge should be more than sufficient for email and browsing mobile versions of website, but if you try to load up the full New York Times you're gonna notice how slow it is. In areas where EDGE isn't available the Sidekick LX falls back on the slower GPRS standard.
Bluetooth (5.5)

Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Sidekick LX does not support Wi-Fi. This is a shame since T-Mobile operates one of the largest Wi-Fi networks in the country and the ability to access the internet at these Wi-Fi hot spots would have made up in part for the lack of 3G support.
Infrared (0.0)
The Sidekick LX does not support Infrared connectivity.
