Cellular Bands (4.0)
The Katna DLX is a dual band (800/1900) CDMA phone that operates on Sprint's network. CDMA phone's are generally locked into a single network, unlike GSM phones that use SIM cards and can be unlocked to work on any GSM network. CDMA networks are also not good choices for anyone who needs a phone that works overseas, where GSM networks predominate. However, you will get good CDMA coverage in most parts of the United States, Canada, and a few other places. Our score for cellular bands is based on the total number of bands supported.

Data Support Score (6.0)
The Katana DLX supports Sprint's high speed EVDO network, which will give you download speeds of between 400 and 700 Kbps, depending on coverage. Where EVDO is not available you will fall back on the older and slower 1XRTT network. The Katana DLX does not support Sprint's newer EVDO Rev A or Wimax networks.

Bluetooth (10.0)
The Sanyo Katana DLX supports Bluetooth 2.0 with the following profiles: AVRCP, A2DP, basic printing profiles, dial up networking, FTP, GAP, GOEP, headset, hands free, object push, PBAP, and SPP. We're happy to see such an extensive set of Bluetooth profiles, and especially pleased to see support for wireless stereo and printing via Bluetooth. We're able to easily get the Sanyo M1 partnered and working with a Bluetooth headset, and the settings are simple and straightforward.

Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Katana DLX does not support Wi-Fi.

Infrared (0.0)
The Katana DLX does not support Infrared connectivity.
