Who's It For
Business User
Business users will appreciate the Samsung SLM's long battery life, but the lack of email and limited organizer features mean this isn't a good business phone.
Budget Callers
At it's current price the Samsung SLM is not a good choice for budget callers, but give it a few months and you'll probably be able to pick one up for around $50, which would be a decent deal.
Chatty Teenager
A chatty teenager might like the Samsung SLM's slim profile, but isn't a very sexy phone and doesn't make up for this with a low price. You're better off with a Chocolate or W580i for a chatty teenager, both of which come at better prices.
Media Maven
The poor camera and video playback options mean this probably isn't a good choice for media mavens, despite the decent music playback and support for Napster mobile.
Conclusion
The Samsung SLM is a nice little phone whose signature feature, support for Napster mobile, isn't really anything that impressive. Set that aside, and you have a basic flip phone with a nice slim form factor (but otherwise plain looks) and a decent but not overly impressive software suite. Throw in a pretty poor camera and decent battery life and you end up with a handset that make you say, "eh." If it were free with contract, we'd say go grab it, because it's a solid phone, but at $130 it's over priced. Why not spend an extra twenty bucks and get a nice smartphone like the T-Mobile Shadow, or spend half as much and get a W580i, which is just as good but has a decent camera.
