Tethered Modem (7.0)
The Samsung Instinct can be used as a tethered modem both via USB and Bluetooth. You can find instructions to set up the connection online, you simply need the username and password for Sprint's EVDO network. Be careful, though, on a standard data plan you can usually get away with a little tethered usage, but if you use too much data you may get pinged on your next bill unless you sign up for one of Sprint's tethered data plans.

GPS (8.0)
The Samsung Instinct has a GPS built into the device and uses Sprint's Navigation software for maps and directions. The software is fully featured with support for voice guided turn by turn directions, local searches, automatic traffic updates and even allows you to rate businesses you've visited. The big drawback compared to a standalone GPS is that maps are loaded over the network dynamically, so if you go outside of Sprint's coverage area you won't be able to get maps. If you stay in major cities and their environs, however, you should be fine. For many this will be a major selling point of the Instinct and we're glad to see such a fully featured software package on the device.

PTT (0.0)
The Samsung Instinct does not support Sprint's Push to Talk network.
