Tethered Modem (7.0)
The Samsung Glyde can be used as a modem for your computer via Bluetooth. Despite the presence of a USB cable you cannot use the phone as a modem via USB. Setting up a Bluetooth modem connection was fairly simple, we paired the phone with our computer and then created a new dial out profile specifying the phone as the modem. You may need to search around a bit for the proper login settings for Verizon. You should also note that technically tethering is not supported on most data plans, you will either need to pay extra for it or be very careful about how much you use it, otherwise you could end up with a lot of overage charges.
GPS (6.0)
The Samsung Glyde supports GPS functionality but only with the built in Verizon Navigator software. You'll have to pay for this software, either $9.99 per month or $2.99 for a single day's use. The software is also limited in that you need a data connection to download maps, so it won't work like a standalone GPS unit that has all the maps built in. The software itself is fairly easy to use, if not very elegant. We wouldn't recommend depending on the Glyde as a GPS unit instead of a standalone TomTom or Garmin unit, but it will do in a pinch.

V Cast Mobile TV (4.0)
The Glyde is one of the phones that supports Verizon's new broadcast TV network. This picks up a signal from a broadcast tower in real time just like regular TV instead of streaming video over a data network. Unfortunately the service is not available in our market so we were not able to test it out, but we will award some points for having the capability. For more information see Verizon's page on the service here.
