Samsung Glyde Cell Phone Review - Conclusion

Conclusion
The Samsung Glyde is a phone whose signature feature is also its fatal flaw. The experience of using the touch screen on the Glyde just isn't good, and given that you'll be using it every day for the next couple of years that is a sufficient indictment of the phone that we can't recommend it. It's too bad because the Glyde has some good features like a solid two megapixel camer, GPS and V Cast Mobile TV. In the case of the Glyde, however, the user experience just isn't up to snuff. The poor touch screen interface negatively impacted our experience of the web browser, the camera and just about every other aspect of the device. For $200 you can pick up a phone that doesn't cause such frustration and probably save yourself some money in the process. And for those who might complain that we're holding the Glyde to the iPhone's high standard we'd like to point out that the Palm Centro and LG Voyager are non-iPhone touch screen devices that we'd much prefer to use on a daily basis rather than the Glyde.

Who's It For

Business User:
This is a no go due to the lack of a proper email client and limited organizer features.

Budget Callers:
This is about $150 more than a budget caller probaably wants to spend.

Chatty Teenager:
A chatty teenager might be interested in the Glyde's QWERTY keyboard and shiny-shiny looks, but we'd advise parents to guide their kids to a better, less expensive option.

Media Maven:
The camera's decent and watching video isn't bad, but the music software is slow and you have to deal with that damn touchscreen.
