The Samsung Alias 2 has made its debut on Verizon Wireless. Equipped with an e-ink transforming keypad, the Alias 2 features a 2.0-megapixel camera and video capture capabilities, a QWERTY keypad that can change to a numeric one with symbols, and Bluetooth® technology. The Samsung Alias 2 is available for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
Samsung Mobile also announced the availability of the Samsung Magnet on AT&T. The Magnet features MEdia Net browsing, a VGA camera, and a full QWERTY keyboard with one-touch access to messaging options.
We have some more news on the BlackBerry Onyx, which we mentioned yesterday. BGR is reporting that the 3G device may be available by September on the T-Mobile network and will feature support for AWS 1700MHz + 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA.
The Android device in the picture (see left) is rumored to be none other than the much-anticipated T-Mobile G1 v2. If this is a picture of the actual next-generation G1, note the lack of physical buttons on the screen, indicating a complete touch interface aside from the QWERTY keyboard. Rumors indicate that Wal-Mart will sell the device for $148 with a 2-year agreement.
