Asus to take on Samsung Omnia, Cricket offers pre-paid broadband, Pearl in 3 new colors on T-Mobile and more. Here is a round up of today’s stories that will chase those Monday blues away.


Looks like Samsung Omnia will soon face competition with an upcoming Asus device. According to the rumor mill, Asus is busy developing a 5-megapixel smartphone that would include prerequisites like a touch screen, Wi-Fi support and 3G.

T-Mobile once again is giving the BlackBerry Pearl a color makeover. The smartphone will soon be available in pretty shades of Frost, "Indigo" and "Black Emerald". That is layman’s term is silver blue, purple and black respectively.

Cricket will soon offer pre-paid wireless broadband services for $40 per month. This amounts to $1.33 a day. Cricket Broadband is compatible with the Windows 2000®, Windows XP® and Windows Vista™ operating systems.
