CTIA, Orlando, March 26, 2007 – Pantech Wireless is flaunting its stuff at this year’s CTIA show with the announcement of five new North American mobile devices including the flashy C3b, which they claim is the world’s smallest camera flip phone.
The Pantech C3b follows up the C3 by adding Bluetooth wireless. The C3b and older C3 both have camera, multimedia messaging, and mobile email capabilities and have a variety of changeable colored face plates to customize to users’ personalities.
Pantech Group is the third largest wireless handset manufacturer in Korea and claims to be gaining ground on the North American market. Last year, Pantech signed partnerships with major carriers such as Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, Helio, Disney Mobile, and Alltel.
“Our dedication to R & D and ensuring partners a rapid development cycle, allow us to deliver cutting-edge products that take full advantage of carriers’ emerging networks and exciting new content,” said Pantech Wireless’s COO Mike Cost, in today’s press release.
In addition to the new Pantech C3b, the company is showing off four other North American models, a few international devices, and even a few concept phones at CTIA. The Pantech C710 has a host of features including Bluetooth stereo, 1.3-megapixel camera, video sharing client, flash user interface, and push-to-talk (PTT) capabilities.
The Pantech C600 has many of the same features as the C710 including the Bluetooth stereo and flash user interface. It doesn’t have a camera but does have instant messaging, mobile email, and multimedia capabilities. The Pantech C510 combines a camera with a mobile phone and MP3 player. It can accept external memory and even record videos within the bright green case.
The company’s entry-level model is the Pantech C150 that comes in black and white and includes a Bluetooth stereo, VGA camera, and MP3 downloading functionality.
