Palm Treo Pro has officially been
announced by Palm. As we mentioned in Monday's blog post, Palm had leaked a Flash video of the new Treo by accident and then pulled it. But now we have the
full details from Palm directly, and it's looking good with quad-band GSM, tri-band 3G, wi-fi, GPS, a 2.0 megapixel camera and more. It runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and will be available in Europe through Vodafone and O2 and will be sold unlocked in the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $549.

The U.S. may get a new cell phone carrier soon - Cox Communications, a large cable company, has stated that they will offer wireless services. Cox bid on and won licenses to the 700MHz wireless frequency earlier this year and will be making use of this acquisition.
