March 20th 2007 - Rumors have been circulating for some time about PDA and cell phone manufacturer Palm being up for sale, and a number of potential bidders have been named, including Nokia and Motorola. And we may not need to wait to find out who the winner is: according to press reports in the industry blog Unstrung and others, the deal may be announced within the next day or so. It seems that the bankers who are advising them on the deal are trying to get the deal finalized before the 22nd, when Palm announce their third quarter results. Companies typically try and work out deals before they announce results like this to avoid speculation in the stock market. We’ll bring you news on the final buyer for Palm when (or if) the deal happens.
