Synchronization & Push
The Pre will automatically sync contacts with your Google and Facebook accounts. If you update a contact's information in your Google contacts list on the web, the change will be automatically reflected on your Pre. If one of your friends on Facebook updates their contact information, these changes will automatically be reflected in your contact information on your Pre. Beyond this, Palm has not described PC or Mac desktop syncing compatibility and details.
Contacts
Your main contacts list is shown sorted alphabetically, and IM availability is immediately denoted by a red or green dot to the left of the contact's name. If a contact has multiple sources of information, it will be denoted with an icon showing a small stack of photos versus an icon of a single photo - this is illustrated in the screenshot below.

Calendar
The calendar has multiple views, as one would expect in a smartphone, to provide you with various ways to view your appointments.

The Pre's month, week, and day views
If you keep multiple calendars, you can selectively choose which ones to view. If you have chosen to hide some calendars, the Pre will still mark your busy times by showing those time slots as shaded with a light pattern of diagonal lines. A wide stretch of open time in between appointments will be condensed and represented with paper crinkled accordion-fashion.

Tasks
We can't imagine a Palm device without a tasks list and one is indeed in evidence in the Pre's Launcher though it was not featured in the demonstration we received.

Notes
The Pre's Notes application shows all notes in a thumbnail view. Palm has not provided information on the ability to sort and customize or other features.
