Cellular Bands (4.0)
The Palm Centro is a dual-band (800/1900) CDMA phone that is locked to Sprint's network. The Centro should work fine in most places in the U.S. or Canada, but if you travel abroad you will find it won't work with GSM networks prevalent throughout most of the world. Our score for cellular bands is based on the total number of bands supported.
Data Support Score (6.0)
The Centro supports EVDO data, which provides download speeds of around 700 Kbps. EVDO is rolled out in most of the country, but where you don't have access you fall back on the slower 1XRTT, with speeds around 100 Kbps. Of course, the speeds you see when browsing will vary depending on network coverage in your area, but EVDO should be fast enough to provide a very good Web browsing experience, and is more than fast enough for streaming video or music. The Centro doesn't support the next generation of EVDO, Rev A, which supports speeds up to 1 Mbps.
Bluetooth (7.0)

Wi-Fi (0.0)
The Palm Centro does not support Wi-Fi.
Infrared (7.0)
Like Palm's Treo handsets, the Centro supports infrared for short-range connectivity. With the popularity of Bluetooth, infrared has become less important, but it's still useful when you're trying to exchange data quickly with older hardware that lacks Bluetooth support.
